Internal Approach focuses on the internal disposition of a person. Their attitudes, beliefs, emotions, overall psychological, physical disposition that affect their overall functioning. Examples of Internal Approach are the following but not limited to helping people cope with their experiences or giving them proper tools to process the events that are happening to them
External Approach focuses on the external surroundings of a person. The people around them, the environmental situation, policies, cultural, and social interactions that affect their overall functioning. Examples of External Approach are the following but not limited to changing their immediate environment, pushing for more radical means of change, and prioritizing long-term policy changes.
